The importance of being literate and what the comic book can offer your students.  Integrate comic book literature into your classroom settings, incorporate a higher learning standard with exciting tools offered by our panel of experts' first hand experience: NYT Best Selling Author, Frank Beddor (Looking Glass Wars, Hatter M), Karen Green (Columbia University), Dave Elliot (Weirding Willows, Titan Books), Paul Levitz (Legion of Super-Heroes), Anina Bennett (Boilerplate, Heartbreakers) and Mimi Cruz (Night Flight Comics). This multimedia session includes a brief history of the comic book origin; will highlight specific examples of how to engage students in reading and how to inspire students to learn using the comic book to create their own work. Q&A and breakout sessions with panelists will follow group discussion.
